As always, the ARIA Awards were a show down of Australia's hottest music acts strutting their stuff not only on the stage, but also down the red carpet. Click here for more......

As always, the ARIA Awards were a show down of Australia’s hottest music acts strutting their stuff not only on the stage, but also down the red carpet. While some outfits were questionable (Molly Meldrum, I’m talking about accessorising with your white fluffy dog), here’s our pick of beautiful Australian young women.

MTV’s Ruby Rose rocked the red carpet with a gorgeous red strapless number with ruffles. Throw in her punky blonde hair and tatts, and you have one spunky young lady.

Nat Bassingthwaite went for a grecian style creme dress with gold detail. Check out the platforms on those shoes!

Vanessa Amorosi is back with a new attitude and style to match. This daring dress is seemingly held together with large saftey pins. We are loving her chunky rings!

In what appears to be her signature layered style, Orianthi chose bright blue nail polish to finsh off her look. Michael Jackson’s guitarist is making waves with her track ‘According To You’.

Lisa Mitchell’s pixie boots drew attention on the red carpet. Pairing her dress with matching chunky bangles, Lisa’s look is simple yet stylish.

Quirky Kate Miller-Heidke was stunning in a floor length black silk gown with feather detail. Offset by her statement orange hair, Kate was a stand out on the red carpet.

Girl of the moment Jessica Mauboy opted for a clean white dress with gathered features and chunky chain detail.

The zip details on her shoes added a splice of rock to the R’nB diva’s look.

Here are the must have items this summer to ensure your day at the beach is a hit!

Swimsuit Trends

Here we take a look at some of the products that have turned our favourite tech products into a fashion statement (and vice versa).

When LG and Prada joined to release the Prada phone, the relationship between fashion and technology stepped up to a new level. It’s no longer the norm to have a simple, functional phone. Since then, the release of Prada’s Bluetooth watch has pushed the boudaires with the ability to communicate relevant data, text and e-mail directly to your wrist.

Here we take a look at some of the products that have turned our favourite tech products into a fashion statement (and vice versa).

The studio 15 laptop from DELL invites users to get creative and connected by choosing their own canvas to represent their individual style.

Surf brand Roxy paired with electronics company JBL to release a range of headphones microphones. The headphones come in a cute Roxy bag and fold up for easy storage.

Never miss a beat with these super stylish handbags that double as an i-Pod speaker system.

Fuji Film has your favourite colour covered with their Fine Pix range. Whether you’re loving Hot Pink or Cool Purple, Fuji have a digital camera to suit every wardrobe.

Perhaps the most interesting of these is the Calvin Klein USB Sunglasses. These babies mean you can take your data wherever you go….but would you want to?

But as fashion is so fickle, will we see a bigger turnover in tech trends to feed our ‘what’s new?’ obsession?

Following the success of Rock the Schools, School Tours Australia is launching a new tour in 2010. Fashion Roll Call is a FREE entertainment and educational in-school program aimed at inspiring high school students around Australia.

Following the success of Rock the Schools, School Tours Australia is launching a new tour in 2010. Fashion Roll Call is a FREE entertainment and educational in-school program aimed at inspiring high school students around Australia. Along with a fashion parade for the whole school, the tour will uncover the diverse range of careers pathways in the Fashion Industry through workshops facilitated by official education partner, Whitehouse Institute of Design, Australia, covering styling and fashion business. Students will also have senior make up artists from NP Set Cosmetics on hand to take them through a make up workshop with models supplied by Chadwick.

Fashion Roll Call will launch its seven week tour on the 15th July 2010 covering 32 all-girls high schools in Melbourne, Sydney and Brisbane. School Tours Australia’s General Manager, Nikki Smith, is excited to be launching another tour with the aim of inspiring future fashionistas.

“It has always been part of our mantra at School Tours to evolve the concept into other parts of the creative industry sector and fashion was definitely a firm favourite amongst the feedback we had been receiving from students and teachers. This really is a great opportunity for brands to partner and align with a new and unique tour that targets and engages with a captive teenage audience in schools. Partners already signed on are NP Set Cosmetics, Chadwick Models and Whitehouse Institute of Design along with media partners Habbo and Girlfriend Magazine. Our existing tour, Rock the Schools and its partners have been inspiring the next generation of music industry professionals all over the country and we are excited for a busy 2010 with the 5th anniversary of Rock the Schools and the launch of Fashion Roll Call.”

Official education partner Whitehouse Institute of Design will open the student’s eyes to career options within the fashion industry, and a behind the scenes look at staging a major fashion event! The fashion business workshop will educate senior students about the various careers within the fashion industry such as design, publicity, event management and marketing. The styling workshop will provide students with hands-on experience in styling models for the fashion parade and the chance to see what is really involved in being a fashion stylist.

Official make up partner, NP Set Cosmetics, will present the make up artistry workshop prior to the parade where students will have the opportunity to see the senior artists work their magic on the models as well as make up hints and tips for school formals, everyday and job interviews.

To further extend the reach of the tour to more than just the 32 high schools and close the gap between the students and the fashion industry, fashionrollcall.com.au, has been launched ahead of the tour and will be live all year round. The social media site has the ability for students to upload their own designs, photographs and ideas that can be commented and rated on by professionals in the fashion industry and their own peers. The website has up-to-date industry news, an online community and access to the workbooks and workshops that are delivered in each school.

Long term media partners of Rock the Schools, Habbo and Girlfriend Magazine will also be supporting Fashion Roll Call along with a dedicated PR campaign.

Collette Dinnigan is one of Australia – and the World’s most famous fashion designers. Collette was born in South Africa and later moved to New Zealand where she attended Wellington Polytechnic and later graduated at Tauranga Girls College. After her studies she moved to Sydney and started working for the costume department at the ABC. In 1990 she created the Collette Dinnigan label and in 1992 she opened her own range. In 1995 she was the first Australian to launch a ready-to-wear collection in Paris.

The brand Collette Dinnigan is now known worldwide and Collette has designed clothes worn by celebrities such as Nicole Kidman, Pink, Kate Hudson, Halle Berry and Angelina Jolie. She has a distinctive, glamorous style and is inspired by colours, prints, emotions, travelling and the weather. Dinnigan’s work is incredibly fresh and versatile, generally appearing as a sveltely confident look, underscored by an inventive mix of layers, colours and textures. However, she stresses the importance of her clients: “every woman who wears my clothes gives them a personality… no two women can wear the same dress and look exactly the same.” Over the years she received several awards such as the Designer of the Year Award in 1996, the Award for Excellence in 1998 and she was awarded for Australia’s 50 Most Beautiful Exports in 2001, 2002 and 2004.

Ms. Dinnigan attributes her dizzying success to an unwavering commitment to quality and detail. She explains “people want the essence of the designer. They want something different. That’s something I try to do—create something that will last.” A close examination of Dinnigan’s creations proves this point. Her stunning silk dresses, antique lace skirts, tweed jackets, cashmere suits and wool trousers are all made with a delicate couture sensibility.

Men’s catwalk exploded the runway with fireworks emanating from designer collections at Paris Fashion Week. The week just got over on 29th of June lightening the sartorial load on the ramp with ultra light fabrics. Bold prints, harem pants, slim fitted trousers, tailored look and beefy sailor looks ruled the runway. Cuts came through at Hugo Boss from a 1980’s take on tailoring. The German suit maker also sent out a collection fit for the beaches of a chic French beach resort. Heavy metal sequins covering several well-cut jackets sparkled like scales. The looks were eye-catching, but gave even style maverick Adrian Brody look.

Colour took centre-stage at the Paris-based Japanese label Issey Miyake, as designer Dai Fujiwara sent out Turkish-inspired harem pants and short suits in turquoise, ceylon and Persian blues; embellished with geometric mosaic designs and eye-popping tulip prints. Triangles and hexagons woven into a cotton fabric turned a generously cut summer jacket into a delicate mosaic.
This time, translucence was the key for Calvin Klein. The opening outfit set the tone- a transparent onyx parka over Lycra shorts, in keeping with what has become the Zucchelli tradition of extreme sportswear. If the designer’s signature collection was an exercise in adult restraint, this outing felt like an experiment in quirk. Emporio Armani show cased wrinkly things, scaly designs, burgundy leather mesh, sober suits, and lots of orange, deluxe oriental fabrications; long johns, models on BMX bikes and a tiny child in pinstripes.

Givenchy adopted for a flying wedge of his peers and gave the clothes a ferociously sexy athleticism using high-performance fabrics in a mosaic like print founded on the star motif. The short-over-leggings silhouette was predominant in his version of a sports uniform. John Galliano as bizarre as ever, showcased the usual wall-to-wall spectacle, with an unusual cast of thousands, painted and garbed to resemble anyone but themselves. Separately all pieces are wearable. The theme was Napoleon’s rise and the Napster being a character that Galliano effectively identifies with the show’s arc.

Massimiliano Giornetti is known for his expertise in sublimating his inspirations into the grander design of Salvatore Ferragamo. This season he was influenced by the colours and textures of Africa but in transforming his impressions, he managed to produce a collection that was unutterably Italian. The recipe for the new Lanv in collection this season was Lightness, colour, desire and a lot of work. A tiny bow on a neckline, another at the waist, kimono-cut shirts, high-waist khakis, a green coat in what looked like crepe, puff sleeves, shorts in tie silk are the feminine flourishes that distinguished the label.

This time Yohji Yamamoto show cased simple clothe with little details. The palette, fabrics, silhouettes were much the same as always- black, indigo blue, linen, cupro and oversized. But the designer had slipped in a little subtext, his name written in Cyrillic script inside the breast pocket of jackets. The audience for Raf Simons’ show was sitting in a beautiful garden, looking at a snake or at least a snake printed on a pair of jeans. The belts woven around the bodies of the be suited Adams were also serpentine. The logo on the backside of the jeans was with the snake coiling in an S shape.

The design included knit torso with cloth jacket shoulders and jackets whose sleeves were slashed open like something from the Renaissance. The unlocking key of Stefano Pilati’s latest enigmatic collection was the T-shirt he was wearing when he took his bow. Pilati introduced the collection with a short film made by director Samuel Benchetr it. Yves Saint Laurent jackets were cutaway, low in front, higher in back, which gave an illusion of urgency, like the models were leaning forward. Over all, it was a fun and colourful voyage to menswear fashion at the Paris do.

We can count on Gucci for styles that we love now and later. Gucci is always in front the cutting edge of fashion and wins countless applause for their master pieces. It has been named in top 40 songs since the 1970s and is frequently mentioned in hip-hop music where material goods make or break status. For style-conscious women everywhere, owning a Gucci purse, Gucci wallet, or a pair of Gucci sunglasses is the ultimate status symbol.

Gucci possesses an inborn sense of creativity and innovation which has produced numerous stylish and eye-catching handbags. We can make quite the fashion statement with the Gucci handbag we choose to use. Gucci handbags are not only renowned for their high quality materials. Their suave style offers elegance and luxury, very suitable for ladies who want a timeless glamour, not a flashy trend. Perhaps the most famous icon of this house of fashion is the Jackie O. shoulder bag which was worn by Jacqueline Kennedy Onassis when she was the wife of U.S. President John F. Kennedy. While mentioned Jackie Onassis, people often associate the classic handbag, Gucci Jackie Bag with her.

The classic Jackie O. shoulder bag is made of top quality leather and denim with jacquard double G pattern and a unique metal push/slide closure. Gucci recently launched a brand New Jackie Bag. New Jackie O. shoulder bag is more variation with a distinctive color like jewel green, wine red and deep tan. I like the tan leather new Jackie bag so much. It features single adjustable strap with woven detail. A wide shoulder strap ensures it will sit comfortably on your shoulder and the interior is fully lined with a contrasting silky material. The sheer size of the bag means that it is plenty big enough. It is perfectly elegant for holding all your daily essentials. Available in some fantastically bright colors for the spring and summer season this is a bag that will get you noticed for all the right reasons, glamour and elegance. This new large Jackie shoulder bag comes with Gucci controllato card, Gucci care card, and Gucci logo dust bag. If you own this Gucci handbag, you are definitely part of a worldwide fashion powerhouse.

The founder Guccio Gucci opened a small leather store in 1921 in Florence, Italy. Guccio exhibited the same talents his father possessed, making functional pieces that reflected his exposure to European designs. Since then, the brand has developed into one of the world’s most esteemed fashion houses. Nowadays Gucci Company is more competitive than before. Owning a Gucci handbag like the classic Jackie bag would be your best choice.
