The company also owns Nad’s Laser Clinics.
The success of SI&D hinges on the family tradition of finding solutions to everyday health and beauty problems – using their personal experiences to create products that work for the community.
Job Title: Brand Manager
What’s the best thing about your job? Working with a passionate, driven team of people every day!
What would you do in a normal day at work? Check emails and respond; liaise, communicate and brief agencies, suppliers and internal team members (i.e./ Graphic Design, Research & Development, Sales etc)
What’s your favourite piece of clothing? My little black dress (Marcs design)
What’s your favourite accessory? I have two…my wedding ring & Tiffany & Co necklace.
What’s the most expensive piece of clothing you’ve ever bought? My wedding dress!
What’s your worst fashion Faux Pas? Tie die T-shirts … eek! But apparently they are back in fashion again??
Market or Malls? Markets.. love them
What do you love most about the world of fashion? The diversity in style, trends and originality.
Any tips for a budding brand manager? Organisational skills are key, being a people person (friendly with relationship skills) and thinking creatively.
What’s your favourite designer? Collette Dinnigan. Her designs are elegant, feminine and stylish.
When and why did you decide to work in the Health and Beuaty industry? Today, I am the Brand Manager for Nad’s ( the company which my mother, Sue Ismiel founded back in 1992)!
My mother was determined to help me with my young sensitive skin, but unable to find a suitable product which was gentle, natural and effective, She created her own hair removal product from ingredients found in our own kitchen and Nad’s was born.
What do you think about Australian women’s style and their fashion sense? Australian women seem to have a relaxed sense of style, yet with a cutting edge and contemporary design.
Do you follow the fashion trends every season? Is it important to your job? I think I have my own style, I like to mix it up… a little conservative for work but modern and stylish wear when I go out.

If you have any questions for Natalie about being a brand manager, please post them below.

Company: Millie & More, makers and marketers of Moxie feminine hygiene products.
Job Title: Co-founder/Director
What’s the best thing about your job? Having the freedom to develop and execute my own ideas and see them come to fruition.
What’s your favourite piece of clothing? The flavour of the month at the moment is a cropped Isabel Marant black ruffled vest. I absolutely love it because I can wear it over an evening dress or even team it with jeans, flats and a floaty shirt (like today!).
What’s your favourite accessory? My ‘Willow’ lace-up, thigh-high, grey leather boots.
What’s the most expensive piece of clothing you’ve ever bought? A Prada wool jacket covered in gold rivets. It cost small fortune but it is absolutely divine – classic and timeless yet with an edge. Definitely the one piece I will hold onto and pass down to future generations!
What’s your worst fashion Faux Pas? Thinking back… probably wearing printed leggings, chunky socks and a baggy jumper in grade 6 – but surely it was fashionable at the time, right?!
Market or Malls? Both, for different finds. I love scouring markets just for fun and it’s so rewarding when you find that one gem, but I would probably do the bulk of my shopping in boutiques.
What do you love most about the world of fashion? It is so subjective and so I love seeing people’s interpretations of it. I also love how what you wear has the power to dictate your mood and change the way not only others see you, but how you see yourself. Fashion to me is like an un-spoken personal statement.
Any tips for students wishing to start their own business? As cheesy as it sounds, go with your gut and don’t be too scared to take some risks! Otherwise, you may always wonder “what if?”

If you have any questions for Mia about starting her own business, please comment below.
