Catherine McNeil is one of Australia’s hottest up and coming models this summer. The New York Times has called her ‘Fashion’s Latest Crush.’ She was spotted at only 14 years of age and now only twenty, she is featured in Vogue and has graced the world famous catwalks of Milan, London and New York.

You know you’ve made it in the modelling world when you’re in advertising campaigns for the likes of D&G, Versace and Jean Paul Gaultier. Catherine also has been the muse of Greg Kadel and signed a six month contract with photographer Mario Testino.

Catherine is obviously a bit of a rebel, calling herself a ‘metalhead’. She loves the bands Metallica, System of a Down and Korn with has her tongue and belly button pierced as well as numerous tattoos showing that you can be a model and still be yourself!. In her spare time she likes to fix cars. She was also caught kissing Ruby Rose another Australian model at a party. She also terms herself a ‘bogan from Logan.’ However the typical bogan has a bad dress sense, bad hygiene and a mullet – which is definitely not Catherine. But as the rise of UGG boots flourishes so does she. When asked what she would do with a week off she answered ‘Sleep, go to the beach in Australia and see my family.’ A true Aussie girl through and through.

The boyfriend jean is back and popular throughout Hollywood this season, as perfected by Jennifer Aniston and Victoria Beckham. When pulled off, the look is chic, casual and effortless. However, even the mighty can fall when it comes to fashion, as seen by the homeless look Katie Holmes donned. When too baggy, this look will drown you and make you look like you belong on the streets. Follow these simple tips to perfecting the look, and elude self confidence as you strut your stylish outfit.

Find the right bagginess for your body. Some women may be lucky enough to be able to borrow their actual boyfriend’s jeans. However, make sure they don’t swallow you whole. You don’t want to look like your drowning in your jeans.

Cuff it off. If you’re pairing the jeans with heels, roll the hem to just above your ankles. If you’re wearing flats, cuff the bottoms just enough to not drag.

Accessorise, or lack there-of. Keep things simple with this look. Wear ballet flats, gladiator sandals, or any open shoe. This look was made to show off your feet, so keep it airy.

Frankie says relax. This is a ‘I’m not trying too hard’ look. Wear a tighter fitting tank or top to add a fitted, feminine touch. Keep everything simple, and carefree.

Belt it up. Wear a simple leather belt to top of the look. It’ll top off the look, especially if it looks like it’s your boyfriend’s belt.

With these simple tips you’re ready to tackle the latest fashion trend. It’s great for a casual day of shopping, or hanging out with friends. For the best budget friendly jeans, raid your boyfriend’s closet, otherwise any thrift store will do.

What do you think of the boyfriend jean trend?

Handbags are more than just a pretty accessory holding all those important items, and topping off the your work, lounge, shopping, or night out ensemble. In fact, the type of handbag you choose says a lot about a woman’s personality. Who knew the decision of clutch or over-the-shoulder said more than just the perfect final touch?

So what does your handbag say about you? According to Kathryn Eisman, it says a great deal! Eisman spent two years conducting research into what women carry in their bags, and in turn what it says about their personality. The outcome is Eisman’s second book, a veritable fashionista’s guide to self, How To Tell a Woman by Her Handbag.

Among the many different personalities your handbag may suggest about you, there are four main categories that can be broken down by bag, according to Eisman’s research.

Minimal. Eisman suggests the person to fit this category carries only the essentials that she needs-wallet, keys, phone, glasses-in a small bag. Apparently by mastering this ability, she is also the envy of others due to her organisational skills.

Prepared. This woman very rarely swaps bags, and carries exactly what is necessary. She may not be as clutter free as the minimalistic handbag type, but she is still relatively organised with her bag. Everything has a purpose due to necessity, suggesting this type of person as practical and focused.

Creative. This person is a free spirit who tends to go against the crowd of conformity. Eisman says their handbags are most like a bottomless pit of chaos-ranging from bills, to wrappers, to medicines-that makes sense only to the carrier. Bags are usually in bright colours, showing their fun, friendly and approachable personalities.

Expressive. According to Eisman, this type of handbag personality is caring and thoughtful. The owner of the bag of a Mary Poppins sort, containing everything and anything that may be of use to others. You may find medicines, bandaids, gum, perfumes, makeup and other odds and ends within the bag; you’re guaranteed success with this bag personality. They are often the caring type, with photos and trinkets hidden within the folds of fabric.

These four categories are only the beginning of the dissection of a woman’s personality according to their bag choice that Eisman conducts. The book is packed with other descriptions, that will surely describe any avid handbag aficionado down to tee. Although handbag decisions are largely due to situation and event, it’s interesting to note the subconscious work at play behind making the final choice between printed or solid clutch.

What do you think your handbag say about your personality? Is it really expressing your personality the way you want it to?
